On the last three consecutive days I have received e mails, so obviously scams. First from Africa offered me 40% of $9,000.000, the second 10% of $5,000.000 and today 40% of $5,000.000. Normally I do not get much in the way of Spam. How are they getting my e mail address?? Sorry got to go just sending off all my personal info including my Bank Account details - duh............................

Anyone else getting them too??

I do not understand how you get so few. I get at least 2 every day, 6 or 7 on some days. But then I have had this email address for over 20 years so I guess it is all over the web by now.

Block the countries you don't want email from in a rule or blacklist (example: *.nl = no email from The Netherlands) and put your approved email addresses on your whitelist. End of spam problem.

Bob Servant (fictional person) engages the spammers in an e-mail dialogue African princes and Russian maidens in distress

It was suggested Pauline change a few details AND SPOOF it as a letter from an Estate Agent here.

Yaramaz..........

This is the first time (well 3 times) I have ever received proper spam, once or twice e mails that were not spam have ended up in the spam folder but this is all new to me. I have had this e mail address since July

2009.

What a great idea to dramatise it. Clever man.

Well if they are not in my contacts list they go straight into spam, then I go in and empty the lot..all I know is the a dodgie email might make my laptop sick ) so if people are emailing me and not putting on the mail what it has reference to,I will not open it, more so if I do not know the name too.But like I said some just saying hello makes me think should I open or delete and if it gets me thinking like that I will not bother to open, they go straight in the bin.My guess is it they knew me they would say a little more, maybe I am a little paranoid about it more so since some nutter....S ? worked out my password for everything on here, long story but true nun the less.

Oh how I wish I could send all the spam back unopened, but we cant see the email address unless we open, We could do with little moderators sitting in our in-boxes )

My e,ail account provider automatically puts this rubbish in a spam folder & I delete them after checking there's nothing I would want to open, I also have a facility to report spam too. Funnily enough I opened a second email address 6 weeks ago & haven't had 1 spam email YET.

I've been getting on average 2-3 every couple of days in Yahoo for at least 3 weeks now. They're driving me mad. I've won the UK lottery, I've had solicitors seeking me out. And all they want is all my personal details, I could be a millionnaire several times over!!!

I can't help but wonder if you agreed to help, how could they manage to send anything to our banks that have to work through correspondence banks and have to SWIFT code of their own. Better still, could they actually get their money back!!!

Pippie, I wonder what their response would be if you replied telling them you were Bankrupt therefore you were not allowed to hold a Bank account but could they please send you the cash. Might stop all the e mails.

Polly

Sorry but it won't have any effect as it's computers sending them out. The largest Spambot network (A network of innocent people's computers infecred with a trojan) took a bit of a break over Christmas but is now back!

The Americans are catching up on this one. I had one from an American Captain claiming he had barrel loads of money from Iraq and trusted me to look after it for him for a while.
