I have tried all of the above. the same remote works other AC units on the ajoining rooms !!

We had the same problem had to call a guy in and it needed to be

- regassed

- serviced

- one needed a part put in it

all working fine now.

What brand is your a/c? It may be the indoor unit PCB which fails in certain brands.

If its low on gas, that will not stop it working. I suspect the problem could be the fuse in the spur box, or the circuit breaker in your main board. The c/breakers sometimes get weak and trip, also if its an older style unit ( not fitted with an inverter) it should have a circuit breaker, I think with a prefix M to allow the start load of the compressor motor starting.
