i am the translator in the " new arm for ismail " project.



my cousin in Turkey who works for a tv commercial firm has been assigned to fined 150 people in Northern Cyprus, preferably Kyrenia to act as main and back ground figures in a new Ing bank tv commercial.

they have already chosen 110 people below the age of 30 and are now looking for 40 people above the age of 30. after a short chat, they have agreed to give 75tl per person who would participate in the making of such a comercial ! i for one am sure we can get a little more out of them as they already know it will be going to ismail.



facts

- if we have more than 40 people its fine as photo's will be taken before hand of the participants and selection will be made amongst them

- the footage will be shot at belapais, kyrenia town center and the korinium golf course.

-after meeting at belapais, coach transportation will be offered to the other destinations.

- all food and drinks will be offered free of charge.

the times will change depending whether you are a main character or a back ground figure.



- all monies collected will be handed over to lee hickens to be used in conjunction with the N.A.F.I project.



- please let your friends and family who are above the age of 30 know.



- i will personally come to you to take a profile photo so that the production team can decide if they will use you in the comercial.







i know thursday and friday's are busy for the most of us but this is for a good cause.

Well you could a have knocked me down with a feather as they say, another fantastic gesture, Yunus. (Yasin) as he is normally called, Knows more than anyone how much Ismail's family need this.



Yasin is the Gentleman that really as kept things going in Turkey. He as been and still is extremley close to this,when I say we could not have managed with out him, that is an understatement.



He is also now very close to the family, and they trust and rely on him.



To us he is our unsung heroe. (and one of the finest pool guys inTRNC) This is wonderful Thank You.

Oh dear, another chance for fame gone! Another chance to help someone else gone! And all because everything here is last minute. With diaries with dates in, it is impossible. As for an u8a.m. start - even more impossible. Still hinged to the bed then.

could do a few hours on Thursday, but of course another down side is giving details of age, weight, etc. Just too embarassing. Enough to say 'over 40-' but weight? All these are what are deemed to be 'inessential numbers'.

But what fun for those who cdan go. Enjoy! Great fun! Really is - unless it rains. Just wish I could be part of it - or rather be ' queen for the day'.

the news of the commercial came about on this last sunday evening, it was just a thought and i know it was short notice ! i just thought that if we could get together 40 members and if we stressed out the production team to pay 100tl, it would be a great bonus for ismail. but if its only 10 people it's still something.

Great day filming at Bellapais Abbey chasing an orange ball and money raised for young Ismail.

Another day filming at Girne harbour and Kyrenia Golf Club tomorrow.



Great atmosphere and fun.....plus doing some good for someone less fortunate.



What could be better.



Here`s hoping that Ismail recovers well and as always our thoughts are with him and his family.

dress code is light or pastel colours. casual and relaxed. black not a great choice !

Yes a good day only four of us turned up from Yunus appeal, so that is only 300 lira for Ismail, our legs are aching, we will be there tomorrow.



Come and join us , it really was good fun, (and very goodfood) not much time to eat it.



Great crowd, and Yasin (Yunus) tells me the cast and the crew are having a whip round to help us.



At the end of the day every Lira will help. Thank you Yasin , the last time Malcolm and I had worked together was on The Sweeney, so good to be back into it again.

Thank You, 1500 TL, better than we expected, you people worked so hard , and yes we are also shattered. I think our legs have given way, so much running in 2 days, running up and down Bellapais was hard.



It was very very cold, I cannot beleive what goes into making one commercial. But great fun, and good community spirit,



The Advert for ING Bank should be on Turkish and Cyprus TV in around 1 week, also please note they are giving 9.5% on new accounts.



Thank You Yasin for organising, and thank you to all of you who turned up, I think we will need a new appeal, maybe new legs for 10 old farts.
