| The problem is with Red Setters is that they like to foray far and wide - they won't stay at home unless tied up - I've had the 'Red Setter Experience'! - This was in New Zealand. The are absolutely marvellous at protecting one's other pets from marauding dogs. I had two white Russian fluffly Chinchilla cats [very valuable!]. Flanagan, our RS, sat in, or outside, his kennel and our pet bunny rabbit and the male Chinchilla [Miracle Crystal Silver] sat between his front paws. When the next door's Alsatian killed the female cat [Miracle Crystal Charm - 'Namu', we called her!], Flanagan was howling and howling for days. The Alsatian's owner, used to let off his Alsatian on to the beach and encourage it to chase the Blue herons and bite their legs off - nice man! Shortly aftewards, Flanagan was off the leash and so was the Alsatian [trained to be vicious - not its fault] they had a confrontation - never seen the like - [to cut the story short] the Red Setter killed the Alsatian... ! |
