It seems the lunacy down south of the border knows no bounds. They are planning to apply to join PFP and Nato.

Ehem, perhaps there may be some obstacles to climb over like some member belonging to Nato objecting to such a small insignificant and less than useless power with astronomical ego.

Has anybody got some stupid pills they can lend them, because boy do they need it down there. I say down there because they prefer to take it as suppository being Greek an all.

What possible reason can such a small part of Cyprus have for wanting to join Nato?

Obviously, we are quite paranoid about their motives. Wish I could say otherwise but its true.

Saw Christofias on the TV this morning (Euronews) He appeared to have the ear of Angela Merkel, would love to know what he was filling it with!

Greek Cypriots are not that different to Jews of 2000 years ago, waiting for their saviour to come and save them from the evil empire. In fact their mentality is about 5000 years ago.

They actually believe that if by some miracle Greece can blackmail Nato and allow Cyprus into Nato, then they can call upon Nato to come and remove the nasty Turks out of Cyprus.

All I can say is dream on my friends especially the nasty little fascists

Turkey may well object, being quite an influential member, they could always suggest they may leave NATO if RoC is allowed to joining, then Iran etc might place missiles within Turkey under an Islamic agreement?

Can't see RoC getting far with this at all.

But it's important to have a dream, like the dream Papa sold them.

No yrret, Turkey has more power than that in Nato. They can veto. They don't have to leave Nato, in any case America wouldn't want it and Turkey never does anything without the say so of the dreaded yanks.

Thats rubbish!!

You forget that the Turks would not let the Yanks use their country as launchpoint to invde Iraq. So give Turkey credit there. Also they stand up to Uncle Sam over Gaza which intensley riles the Americans.

Cyprus in Nato would presumably have some impact over the future of the British (Nato) bases on the island. And after all, the creed is "an attack on one is an attack on all."
