I love radio and much prefer it to TV. I am lucky in that I can get BFBS as clear as a bell with no problems. I am also the proud owner of a Wi-Fi (internet) radio which gives me access to the whole world of radio via my router. The only fly in the ointment is that the BBC know I am not in the UK so block things like T20 cricket to the radio. I know I can hear it via the laptop, but don't want to take that into the garden. Any ideas how to circumnavigate BBCs defences (for the radio)?

You need a VPN... a short search on here will reveal several options. Basically a VPN will allow you to appear as though you are situated in the UK and thus able to receive BBC broadcasts... I use one... and it works. I pay for mine. £5 per month. :( Mark (6m's) allows some free use of his but I couldn't get it to work last time I tried. Expat shield also didn't work... :(

I use a VPN on my laptop, but how would I get that to work on a Wi-Fi Radio?

I could get expat shield 'working' said it was running successfully etc. but the BBC would not accept it as UK location.... so maybe your problem is Expat Shield.

Sorry Gavin, but I only use expat shield for channel 5 due to the method they use for geographic location. I use another method for BBC etc. I have no problem with radio via the laptop (never have). I have a Wi-Fi (internet) radio which connects via a wireless router and therefore is nothing to do with Laptop or VPN. There is no way to use a VPN so I was looking for other ideas. PS. You do have to remember to turn expat shield ON when you want to use it.

I must be lucky Gavin, but as I say it does not come into the equation for internet radio.
