Hi anybody had any feed back from Extend as to when the mail server may be back up.

Hi cybel, EXTEND mail server up and running now. Mine was off for 6 days. You made need to re-set all your info on your POP3 server though - I had to. If your not sure as to what info you need, then ring the 'helpline'.

Hi Michael,



I have just spoken at long last to Extend helpline and there is still a problem. I still can't log into the server from the UK and you can't contact them at all by mail, as the mail server is not working.



The guy on the help just repeats they are still working on it, I am now having to use my alternate email address. But thanks for your reply, but I think you may find your still off.

Hi again cybel, my Email is definately up and running - I have sent and received quite a few Emails today. When I spoke to the Deniz on the helpline he said that all is well with the Email server at Extend - so who is telling you that there is a problem?



If you click into your 'accounts' box - click on the 'mail default' box - click on the SERVERS tag - check that all information is correct on that page - i.e. your Email username and password are correct - then put a tick in the 'LOG ON USING SECURE PASSWORD AUTHENTICATION' box - then tick the APPLY button before clicking the OK button. That's what I did and I my Emails are going out as normal.



Hopefully that should see you back online.

Thanks for your input, but I can't access the server from outside the TRNC so I cannot click onto the 'accounts' box.



It may well be that your LAN is working inside the TRNC, but it certainly isn't from outside it.



I get back on Sunday and will take it up with them then, meanwhile appreciate your input, thks. cybel

After over a week of numerous telephone calls to the helpdesk Extend have finally acknowledged that the password which I was entering was correct and not changed once in 6 years. I now have an e mail facility but lost in the ether lists of sent messages and deleted messages. Also cannot open any attachments. Will keep chipping away. Hope you all soon get everything you pay for and such service is maintained thereafter !
