This post on C44: "Garden" [ http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/2766.asp ] has 1995 characters in 352 words in ONE post. Amazing. I thought that (almost) 1000 characters per post is the limit. Has something changed..?!

In case you think I like to count characters and words in posts - not so. A simple Mac program (CharCounter) tells me the number of characters/words whenever I need to write text (without using Word) for a magazine in Holland.

R.C.I.

Rectal Cranial Inversion. This disease (otherwise known as Head Up Your Own Arse Syndrome) affects the lives of many. There is no known cure for Rectal Cranial Inversion, but by posting information, we can raise awareness. This cause is close to my heart as, sadly, I meet many people afflicted with it every day.

RE msg 3 & 5: Pugwash and MaggieAndBernie: hijacking threads* and senseless personal remarks* - you are no longer on my list of people to reply to. Bye.

* I wonder how long the Moderators will allow this silly behaviour of Pugwash and MaggieAndBernie to go on.

Indded maggieandbernie very bad in the low countries I understand.

suehowlittle if you had bothered to read many of your "friend" DC's posts you will find he is the rudest most obnoxious person on the board spreading bad feeling and his warped opinions on so many harmless threads that people just put on for fun and amusement, he is also a total hypocrite as posts lately have shown. Yes he has great local and Cypriot knowledge and I wish he would stick to that as people do respect him for it, but not his other drivel. He just does not like anything that goes back at him.

I have never met DC so he is not a friend of mine. However, he has never been rude to me either, this is probably because I do not set out to cause anyone any offence, this Forum is used too often for that purpose and I also wonder why the 'moderators' do not sort it out

I love using the Forum and will not be put off by this sort of behaviour, I will simply learn to disregard it!

Sometime I think it would be so much better if 44 had something like youtube or facebook where you just press like or dislike it would save no end of insulting posts JMHO

Spider X

Saying that I guess one could always post like or dislike and nothing else..simple maybe that should be a new rule

Well to answer Hans' query I guess the change was the institution of the one thousand character limit when the database engine was changed/upgraded due to running out of space...

So old large posts that pre-date change will still show more than 1,000 characters.... could be the reason.

No need for rude replies...

RE msg 15, Groucho: You are absolutely right, Groucho. I had forgotten about the introduction of the 'limit' change - and should have checked the date of the post. Thanks for a normal answer to a - what I thought - normal question.

It was a reasonable question, but you have to take into account the limitions of some members.
