We had a nice, tasty meal at Molly's Place near Pia Bella Hotel last night. Generous portion of hot, freshly cooked battered fish, chips and mushy peas, a side plate of pickled gherkins, onions, parlsey and a pot of curry sauce, plus bread and butter and a cup of coffee - 17TL.

Couldn't fault it for value or flavour.

This is going to be a regular feature every Friday from 7pm.

Booking advisable on: 05338636841

The Fishermans Inn behind the harbour is pretty good.

We have found Ravine to be excellent and take all our visitors there and they have all enjoyed it. Always consistently good variety of cod, haddock and plaice

Taste is obviously a subjective and personal thing.I have been to the Ravine and had a decent sized piece of fish. Sadly it was covered with batter that was so yellow it looked radioactive. Fat formed a layer between the batter and the fish. The chips were made from potatoes with their skins on(authentic?)Indigestion kept me awake all night. Also as a winter venu the Ravine looks like an old peoples home from the outside and feels like a goldfish bowl on the inside. Having said that I have never had decent fish and chips south of Doncaster and batter has always been the problem.

The Fishermans Fish and Chips are very good as are his sons Hakans on the edge of the harbour...but they are not like British Fish and Chips. I actually think in their own way they are better. If we start looking for imitations that is what we will get and imitations will never be as good as the real thing.

Also, why on earth would a sane person put curry sauce on fish and chips.....its a taste thing I guess!

Sardunya Bay and Jessics for us. Good welcome in both places too. However, Sardunya Bay Fish and Chips is only 10tl and you get salad and bread with it.

Have yas tried 'Shark & Taty' in New Zealand, or scallops or oysters & chips - whoops, I'm drooling!

Apart from 'Kiwi' - Fish 'n Chips from Hull, or further North, Seaton Sluice, have to be the best of the rest!
