The 2010 list of the biggest exporting countries in the world was headed again by China. The United States rank second and Japan third. The Netherlands strengthened its position as "Gateway of Europe" and now ranks number four on the list of the biggest exporting countries in the world. The link to TRNC and RoC is that I can't find them on this list. Source: Dutch national radio (Saturday, January 15, 2011, 2.30 pm). P.S. A quote from a post by Moderator No1Doyen (Bill): "Anything can be discussed on this board".

Yeah, yeah, yeah... Sorry, I don't have the time to reply to msg 2 & 3 yet - I'm still searching the list (msg 1) for the position of the UK. P.S. More facts: the Dutch workers are the second best paid in the EU. After Luxembourg, but that's only because that country has so many highly paid EU officials. So Luxembourgs no 1 position is relative. P.P.S. There are no signs of a (world) crisis in Holland - all pensions were raised on the first of January this year. Including mine of course, our Queen Beatrix was pleased to inform me.

Germany was number 2 in 2009 (Holland nr 6, now nr 4), but our neighbours dropped from 2 to 6. P.S. Can't find the UK in the top-ten.

Re : Msg 9, "... but our neighbours dropped from 2 to 6." It must be all this stress, paying the debt for Greece... ".. Can't find the UK in the top-ten" It only exports "toxic debt" and bad banking practices... OK, this year it will start exporting Scotch whisky to China.

Msg 10 "Your first post today, I think. And it is different from your usual great one-liner: "Back to the top". Bravo! " No, my second today at least. But yes, I've had better things to do for most of this beautiful sunny day! Regarding the 'bttt' posts I have made recently, it was merely to keep a very good cause for a very sick little boy at the forefront of members minds! It has now been made a Sticky so 'bttt's won't be necessary for a while. But you didn't answer my question, I wonder why that is? sticks in your throat I suppose!

Not a lot of people know this! ""The Dutch are among the tallest people in the world, with an average height of 1.81 metres (5 ft 11 in) for adult males and 1.67 metres (5 ft 6 in) for adult females. People in the south are on average about 2 cm shorter than those in the north."" That's because those in the North face a greater fear of flooding! (please,... no 'dyke' jokes!)
