Am I the only one who always has problems when pulling the ring and it snaps off and even a tin opener will not work on it!

If the ring pull pulls off, get a table knife and thump into top of can where ring pull was, this will loosen the top, then gently put knife under edge and work round top, don't get your fingers in the way. Has happened to me several times with dog meat cans.

Always lift pull ring up and push forward over edge of the can, this will make a 2cm hole pull ring back upright and pull back works every time.

When it breaks on me i always put it on its side and give it a Hi Karate chop, which then forces the dog food out then i just scrape it off the walls with the lid and put it in the bowl. Jobsagudon!

I agree with spider, just use a tin opener if the ring comes off.

Message 4 and 7 Well of course I go for the tin opener but I can never get it to work on Patrick tins, others yes. I have an old fashioned tin opener and a modern one but neither of them will pierce the lid. Yes I did give up on Patrick tins but picked it up in error. Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem. Ozkent....yes I know that system, can you try it on Patrick tins and see what happens.
