Hi I am self employed, will shortly be coming to TRNC can anyone advise me what steps I will have to take to work legally there please?

As an aside I am extremely good at fixing electrical items in need of repair such as satellite boxes, tvs etc, would anyone know if parts/ components are available locally or is it a question of ordering them and then waiting weeks for them to be delivered?

Thanks

Jason

Thanks

Jason

Main thing you need Jason is enough money/funds to live on with no income.

If you have that you will be fine.

There is no such thing as to be legally 'self employed' here you need to set up or buy a company which is very expensive.

As said in message 2 you need to have enough money to live on then anything you subsequently earn is a bonus.

Hi your employer gets your work permit and deducts Social Sigorta & Tax from your wages.

If you have your own company you have a business permit and pay these taxes usually through your Accountant

You cannot obtain a work permit yourself i.e. there is no such thing as self employed here

Your employer would only get a work permit as long as you work there, its cancelled once you leave. To work for yourself you will need a company and buisness permit. You need to speak to an accountant to find your way to do it xFreelance would not exist here xxxxxxx

I take it you didn't heed the warnings when you first enquired about life a year ago. Have you visited the TRNC since then?

Hector,

yes i did heed your warnings but things have moved on from then and it seems we will be coming over shortly,

I will also have an income considerably reduced from what I am used to, but it will be eneough to live on and anything else we make will be a bonus.
