| We were running the only not for profit house in Lefke Cyprus, saddiqirose.com, serving the many guests to Sheikh Nazim in Lefke, who by the way contribute huge amounts of money to the TRNC. We took over a house that had been doing the exact same thing but with many rumors of selling drugs and all sorts of problems including leaving masses unpaid bills all over town. The town liked us, the neighbors loved how we cleaned up the area, the visitors to Sheikh Nazim were all very happy to find a charitable place to stay - then, through what I believe to be pay-offs from these characters Baba Tasin, and Abdullah, who runs an illegal business on the south side, managed to get the police to challenge our "doing business status" and ordered us to close our website which effectively would close the house. All this while numberous businesses operate to serve Sheikhs many guests and keep the Lefke economy alive. I am calling for an investigation into this matter, the named persons and the police. |

| Update: The house was illegaly entered, really broken into, and this character Abdullah, going by the allias last name Shami, is in the house. Our possesions have been stolen and we paid rent until the end of April. I am guessing the local police permited this illegal entry, but am not certain at this time. Does anyone know of a suitable course of action? Is there a unit to investigate possible corruption in the police department - having been told that we had an open ended contract, paid rent until the end of April, and they do nothing to stop this crime? Any help would be appreciated. |
