Back in the depths of the past a Publican showing Prem. League matches in her UK pub - but using Nova Cyprus - was convicted - conviction was for screening foreign satellite football ...

She appealed - and LOST again.. but the case was referred to the ECJ ( European Court of Justice) - those who followed the Orams' case will remember this process..

The Advocate General SHOULD have given her legal opinion on the 13th - but it has been 'delayed' - reason unknown..

Her legal opinion will heavily influence the ruling the ECJ will hand down and then the case goes back to the UK High Court

She is basing her argument on European competition Laws.

*I* suspect that the ECJ's AG wanted to rule in favour of allowing competition - but 'someone' has managed to 'delay' the decision as this could open up the Prem League TV rights market to be 'pan-european' - not something the Prem League will want

Sorry to 'bore' some, but this case effects all of us that might wan to view pay tv from an EU region in another EU nation...

The whole TV rights market is at stake and BIG players are involved..

The IOC ( International Olympic Committee ) have sent their European representatives

This is BIG money versus the core values of the EU - to open up competition - or would pan-european rights mean less competition ?

This case opened a 'can of worms' and the delay in the AG's legal opinion is 'interesting'

WHY are they interested ?

Well..."

The importance of the dispute goes potentially much further than football games."
