lilli my dear , i cant see anything but a parting of the ways as the core issues like property lost etc are too wide a gap to bridge .

they cant keep talking and making zero progress for ever .

What questions you have to ask yourselves are these. Will Turkey withdraw its troops from Northern Cyprus. Will Greek Cyprus remove the veto that allows direct trade and removes embargoes. Will Turkey hand over Varosha, will direct flights be allowed to Ercan. And will the two sides agree a deal on the thorny issue of property. If you answer no to these questions, then what hope do the talks have in Geneva on Jan 26th.Two states, whether right or wrong,in my opinion will be the outcome.

The talks have dragged on and on now for too long, and have reached a dead end.Unless the two leaders

have something up their sleeves, and i am sure if they had it would have been leaked by now, then i believe that a statement will be made, soon after Geneva. Its a well known fact that Germany and France dont want Turkey in the club. And its also a well known fact that Turkey cant join the E.U. until the Cyprob has been sorted.

So in my humble opinion,we should all be made aware of developments very soon

Re: Msg 5,

Thank you, newlad.

Very amusing article.

This Ukrainian Parliament Speaker's fantasies made me laugh.

Since when has anyone even considered Ukraine for the EU membership???

The gentlemen had perhaps too much Ukrainian chili vodka before the interview so his imagination was running high! He even threw in Turkey into the equation for a good measure.
