nothing will work unless you fix the problem that causes the black mould. If it's the bathroom fit an extractor fan.

No such thing exists, if you seal the damp in it will come through somewhere else in the long run, what exactly is the problem as there maybe a solution.

If all the plaster is coming off around the skirting board area, and upwards, try re-plastering using tile grout mixed with 'latex' [white coloured waterproofing liquid available at Marshalls, etc.] and that helps to prevent the problem re-occurring. Don't spead this on too thick - it may need several coats/layers.

We had a problem with our shower ceiling when we bought the place 7 years ago. We put a coat of fixant made by tri metal on the ceiling first and then a special paint from Tayf Marshalls shop - never had a problem since - the products were recomended by the Tayf Marshalls staff - go and speak witht hem they are very good!!!

This is referred to as"The Other Cyprus Problem" In fact it is due to the lack of DPC/DPM/and correct cavity wall construction , and is a fundamental flaw in the building techniques used in the TRNC....................Removing plaster and treating the walls with a chemical Fungicide will help, but is NOT a cure all.... Re plastering using a waterproofing agent eg liquid silicone, combined with fungicidal compounds will delay the visible regrowth ...........good luck..

Hi I am a Nhbc registere builder in the uk. i have come across many damp problems over time. As andy2b123 has suggested an extractor this is good advice. Usually black mould is caused from condensation in a poorly ventilated enviroment. Brown stains are generally water penetrattion from leaks etc. Try leaving a window open in that room. for ventilation properly the problem should then be greatly improved.
