Hi

As far as I can recall from the papers a few weeks ago the opening times are:

Tuesday and Thursday 10.00 to 12.00 AM.

Which is only 4 hours per week. What they do with the other 36 hours of 40 hour working week is beyond imagination

From what I can remember of the article, the new hours are going to make them work more efficiently.

They must be learning from the civil servants in the north.

What happens if there are so many in the queue that they have not dealt with them all by noon?

N.B. they are open Tues and Thurs 10.00 am - 12.00 PM (not 12.00 am, now that WOULD be useful hours!)

The remainder of their time is devoted to the other side of their work - THE SOUTH! Why does one feel our straw here is getting shorter and shorter for those of us for whom U.K is 'home' and also for those of us who feel protected under the Guarantee of the U.K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are open Weds and Fri from 9.30 am to 12.30pm for passport applications. We have just applied for and received a new passport for our daughter.

They say to allow 4 weeks but ours took about 2 weeks. Very efficient service we thought.

They are also open earlier in the morning for visa applications.

The British High Commission has announced changes in its consulate working hours. According to a statement released by the British High Commission, the Commission’s consulate department has readjusted its working hours so as to expand its services to British citizens living in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The high commission’s consulate department will now be open from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays.

British citizens will also be able to contact the consulate department for enquires through the Commission’s call center which will be open between 7:30 am and 2:30 pm.

The statement also said that the British Foreign Office’s Global response center based in London will continue to assist citizens in case of emergencies after working hours and on weekends.
