arts and crafts/ ceramics /painting evening classes or groups

Hi



Just wondered if anyone knew about any groups/classes that get together to do painting, ceramics or other arts and crafts.



Also theatre groups or similar?



something to get involved in one evening a week basically

Hi Oz,



There is a really excellent ceramics and pottery group run by Bernie in Lapta. You can often find him at the Lambousa Market on Saturdays.



Theatre Lambousa - of 'Allo 'Allo fame - is putting on a comedy-farce in April. I think it is fully cast but they may well need assistance with stage-work etc. They will also be staging the pantomime of Aladin this coming Christmas.



Otherwise I know that Chorus Lambousa is looking to resume work in February and a Barber-Shop Group is forming around them as well.



Also, there is Kyrenia Amateur Dramatic Society and Kyrenia Chamber Choir, the latter of which is going to perform Fauré's Requiem later this year. I believe Cheshire Homes may also be forming a choral society.

KADS is calling people to their AGM on 4th February at the new Municipality Theatre by the Kyrenia Market, at 7.15. A short business meeting will be followed by a conducted tour of the theatre; meet other members, including the cast of the successful recent comedy, and hopefully encourage you to sign up to be a member - whether to tread the boards or paint the boards etc, etc. You can't vote at the AGM if not a member, but you are welcome to go. The bar will be open at fair prices. So, why not go along and meet a few folk who are budding thespians - many of whom are also involved with Lambousa events.



Otherwise, Gordon has told you just about everything, well for this side of the N.Cyprus world.

I don't lijke putting the phone numbers of others here without their permission, but for KADS contact Tony Woods if you know who he is. And Anita Woods could tell you about Theatre Lambousa.
