| Hi, We are proposing to visit UK shortly and then to bring a car back overland. I have driven UK to Mersin before, but I wonder if someone can tell me which days the ferry service from Mersin to Famagusta operates? And what is the cost for an avarage size estate car with 2 adult passengers? Also what time os day does it sail? How long is the croosing time-wise? Any reply and any other comments will be highly appreciated. Geoff Famagusta Old Town. |

| I got the Mercin to Femagusta Ferry from South Turkey to Northern Cyprus end of 2007. It was still still running, despite everyone including the Tourist Information and hotel owners being in denial of its knowledge, even when there were advertising signs with phone numbers, visible in the street in front of their eyes. It was a perfectly decent trip, cheap - nice food in the cafe, and comfortable seats inside. The journey was overnight, leaving in the evening, arriving in the early morning. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to travel between the Southern Turkish coast, and Northern Cyprus, which has a number of beautiful and interesting archaeological remains, together with beautiful countryside. Travelling from Northern Cyprus to Southern Cyprus, also was not hard. There are bus routes and roads across the island, with people from the island travelling across the border with freedom and without much delay. http://www.allaboutkyrenia.com/service/ferry-lines.asp |
