It would be encouraging for the expat community to know exactly what rights the good man will negotiate and protect in Geneva before he goes ahead regardless of the issues, if it is just property rights then that must scare the lives out of all of us. Although there are no reciprocal agreements between the UK and TRNC authorities bar the expat death duty being shared (incredible for a country the UK Government say does not exist)!

So other than property rights which we are not sure about, what other rights do we have here that TRNC citizens have in the UK?

Always remember, they will always tell you what you want to hear and smile at the same time.

So what is the constitution, does it exist, is it ammended? Does Johnny Alien have any rights here? I know we have the right to pay to stay, and to blood tests and medicals, the blood test is quite ironic when you consider that 99.9% of the whore houses are frequented by Turks and TRNC citizens!! We have the right to invest in their economy if we pay after our 90 day freebie Whoopie!! But what other rights are there? I know we CAN NOT vote, demonstrate, have a free health service, complain, receive information in languages other than Turkish, be born to alien parents and receive automatic citizenship to list a few, but surely we must have some rights?

Answers on a postcard, or at least the stamp!!

Any changes will come from pressure outside the TRNC. As seen recently in the ROC.

Discrimination is not a word the TRNC Government are familiar with. Rights? If only.

Re. expats: 'My word is my bond!' or words to that effect, allegedly promised by Mr. Eroglu.........

What bond would that be, sir - another 'junk bond'?

Since most of the so called 'exchange' land was originally forbidden to be sold, how can it be guaranteed to be the inalienable, rightful property of the current occupier, whether or not deemed to be the 'owner', but only by an internationally unrecognised pseudo-state, whose issuance of title deeds is, arguably, worthless?

msg 1;

>>>what other rights do we have here that TRNC citizens have in the UK? <<<

Do you mean TRNC citizens whom are also British???

However,if your question was.....'what property rights do Brit Cypriots have in TRNC?'

My answer for that would be....................same as you other then not having to wait for ptp,due to dual citizenship.

Aslan, the TRNC constitution is here http://www.embargoed.org/downloads/EMBARGOED!_Constitution_July_2010.pdf but it's often ignored by the government
