Hi there is no such 'Breed' as a King Rotttweiler they are all rottweilers, some people may call a big Rottweiler a king but it is just a big Rottweiler, we had a BIG Dobermann here which some of the locals seems to want to call a king Dobermann but it was just a Dobermann which only comes in one type. In Schnauzers there are three recognized sizes giant, standard and Mini and they are given diffirent class's at dog shows and their correct size is in their offical pedigree, same in Poodles. in all offical pedigrees of Rottweilers it will say ONLY Rottweiler. also lots of the pictures i the link have the name of the dog as King not the breed as a King Rottweiler

sorry for being sad, must also be sad to call your dog a breed it is NOT, yes they are allowed difference in size BUT it is still not a 'king Rottweiler ' it is a Rottweiler not a KING as you said in message 14 and the only place i have heard of these breeds Dobermanns and Rottweilers being called as a King is here, and those same people believe it is a diffirent breed. as peole was also suggesting here I assume it is well loved and looked after as we all think our dogs are and should be, but still is nice to call it by the correct name

One has to ask, why - if you have the male dog, do you want it to mate? Do you want all the puppies? TRNC is overrun with feral, abandoned, sick, ill, unwanted animals - why on EARTH would anyone want to add to the number of pets on the Island. I do believe a law should be passed, until the problem of supply FAR exceeding demand, is addressed, that anyone wanting to breed their animals must sign a paper that all puppies from any mating will be immediately microchipped, and the lifelong responsibility of the owner of the breeding bitch, whether the pups are sold or given away, should they be found wandering later on - without an owner.........

Hattie - yes, indeed. I have (just out of curiosity) looked up "King" Rotweilers. They are not a recognised breed, well, certainly not recognised by the Kennel Club. They are Rotweilers who are big. It's a simple as that. Apparently, some breeders (especially in the US) try to sell them as "Kings" but this is a scam, by all accounts. The dogs are bred with other large dogs of the same breed, hence their size.

that was the point i was making they are called kings because they are in fact nearly twice the size in height as normal rottweiler i have never said they were a different breed and why is their such a fuss about this dog which are in fact very loveing and gentle if not then its the owners fault not the dogs

Hi nice reply in fact i know of many people who have Rottweiler bitches and would never suggest they consider your male and YES you did suggest there was such a thing in your message 14 and you say 'there is such a fing' they are Rottwielers plain and simple when people breed and look for a male they should if they want a pedigree dog consider correct breed Type, suitable pedigree from both the stud and the female and the correct breed charactor then the most important part have sultable home for ALL the resulting puppues we have Dobermanns with World Champion parents but will not breed as we are worried about correct owners.

re message 36 I have my facts interested where are yours. there is NO recognized breed called a 'King Rottweiler' you might want to call it a king but it is NOT a breed, however the Rottweiler breed standard for the world is owned by and governed by the German Kennel Club and can NOT be changed without their permission, in fact a Rottweiler the size you mentioned would be disqualified from shows as outside the acceped Breed standard my facts are there are no such classes at shows in the UK including Crufts which hold classes for ever breed that they recognized and the World Dog Show run by the FCI who oversea almost all the shows and pedigrees in Europe which included Cyprus and Turkey (as a new member). i have judged this breed for almost 25 years in many countries, end of last year in Stockholm and next month in Moscow and judge other breeds and never have i been asked to Judge any breed called ' King Rottweiler' so do feel i have the knowledge to comment on Rottweilers

re message 39 i did look for myself and it was from that country so well know for producing quality Rottweiler Pakistan, that said i am sure they have some good one. BUT the kennel name IE the name that this person uses when he breeds Rottweilers is called 'KING ROYAL' so a dog he breeds might be called 'Fred Vom King Royal' also he stated the below which means the correct standard. ADRK is the Rottweiler club in Germany and VDH is the German Kennel club We breed according to the current ADRK, VDH & FCI Breed standard. This is the official standard that is recognized throughout the world.

so re message 41 does that mean you accept that they are not a recognized breed just a name someone might want to call their BIG Rottweiler. as for shows there are four recognized colours of Dobermanns but only two can be shown in Europe ( four in UK) but there is a 5th colour which is NOT recognized but people do breed it as they went out if their way to produce it BUT it is not and never will be considered a recognized Dobermann

dogs should not be bred from unless they are sound in mind and body and are a good example of their breed. this means they should have a recognised temperament qualification and have up to date health tests. rottweilers should at the very least have a below average hip and elbow score. knowingly producing pups from parents with hip and elbow dysplasia is cruel for the dogs and unfair to owners. producing quality pups costs money. there are to many unwanted dogs in the world today with millions euthanized each year because of over production and heartless owners. a bitch does not need to produce a litter to have a fulfilled and complete life. in the wild only the alpha pair breed, thus ensuring the strongest bloodline continues, all for the benefit of the species. What is your dogs hip and elbow score and does your dog have an upto date eye certificate?
