| Hi everyone, I just checked the South Cyprus U. S. Embassy (Republic of Cyprus) website, and I noticed that visitors going from the south to the north can only go for the day and are required to return by 17:00--no overnight stays are permitted: "However, visitors in the Government-controlled area who wish to go to the occupied area may cross from the Ledra Palace checkpoint in Nicosia for a one-day trip only...The entry crossing is open from 08:00 to 13:00 and daily visitors to the occupied area must return by 17:00, as overnight stays are not permitted." Is this true? Will I not be able to stay overnight in North Cyprus and return to the south the next day? Thanks, Smeeta |

| I think that the US Embassy website might care to update their information! The scenario that you outline was the case years ago but certainly is not now. You can cross the border and stay as long subject to the time that is stamped on your visa - usually 90 days but occasionally less. |
