As I am having a few problems with Windows Internet recently, I wondered if any member uses Firefox

and which they consider preferable. Also, is it possible to run them side by side.

I think you'll find that Google Chrome is faster than either IE or Firefox. You can have all of them running on your computer.

they just announced a massive security flaw in IE today. I'd use firefox or chrome.

*I* like Google Crome as it 'anticipates;' and learns what you do, but it is till a 'bit' unstable' with video in flash format and I use Firefox when Chrome 'annoys' me

I use firefox at the moment but keep getting an annoying message about the URL being invalid and cannot be loaded. I then have to restart my pc. Didn't get this with IE, so thinking of changing back.

Interesting one this have tried chrome and firefox on various occasions and always end up going back to IE seems easier to use and faster

Love to see some proof from those that think chrome and firefox are faster urban myth methinks

Also tried Mac/safari now that combination really is rubbish but benefits greatly from brainwashing advertising

at the end of the day you cant beat microsoft love em or hate em they are the best at what they do something to do with resources I suppose

Some tests done recently :

http://www.pcworld.com/article/162252/google_chrome_is_fastest_browser_in_siteloading_tests.html

..Winner - (fastest to load in Vista - Chrome)

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/opera-10.60-internet-explorer-9-safari-5,2680-13.html .......Win for OPERA

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/10238-63-fastest-browser-test-surprising .... Win for Marathon

These tests seem to suggest that there can't BE much difference in speed.. It's now comfortable YOU are with your choice..

I prefer Chrome - because I happen to open too many Tabs and I like how you can just type a url ( web site address) or what you are looking for in the one place and it will intuitively search - rather than giving a Website not found message.

But it is 'flaky' with flash video and Firefox is more stable then.

I like the latest Opera

MS IE tends to make your PC run slower ( with many open tabs / windows) - but it works best on MS sites !
