Have recently had a few problems with Internet Explorer and was wondering whether to try Firefox. If there are any members using Firefox would very much appreciate their comments. Also, is it possible to run the two side by side. Thanking you in advance.

No problem running the two side by side. Hubby always told me Firefox was better, more secure because of the way it was designed. I actually like IE better than Firefox but I suppose that's because that's what I'm used to and I know where everything is. You get used to it!

Yes and yes... you can run them all... Firefox Chrome IE and Opera with no problems regarding conflicts. I can recommend Chrome as it has a smaller drain on system resources than IE and is therefore faster. I don't use it for the majority of my browsing but Opera is really good to have for downloading files from the likes of BBC iPlayer as it can recover from time-outs and transmission errors... if you download goes into 'error' due to time-outs etc. just right click and resume your download.

I have used Firefox exclusively for 4 years now and never have any problems, I started because it was so much less resource hungry than IE5 but it has gradually got bigger over the years. However, based on MS Office which I still use, I must believe that IE has grown at a similar pace, so I am probably still ahead. But I can't offer a comparison any more because it is so long since I used IE.

Fox is far better, but just be aware that some company specific applications won't run correctly on it. My shares web trading platform has to be on IE, won't run on Fox, also my Outlook web mail has to be used on IE, again won't run properly on Fox. But overall, I find it better.
