I would be interested to know if anyone has had positive dealings with any insurance companies out here.

I have had positive dealings with Jade at Commercial Insurance for several different types of insurance and found her very helpful especially when i had a car accident, even though she doesn't directly deal with claims she was very helpful with translating etc as she is from the UK.

A couple of friends suffered property damage during the recent rains and their insurance companies - major Turkish ones - dealt with this immediately. The claims were dealt with through our local agent who turned out the next day in both cases. At one property, the rebuilding of a collapsed wall started within 24 hours of the agent's inspection. Refreshingly fast action compared to UK insurers.

Yes,We had a burst pipe indoors while we were away.Our agent Steve Dickenson sorted everything out.We would not use AXA ever again.7 months to sort out a claim against a truck driver who damaged the electricty poles outside our villa.Final outcome? You must sue truck driver.Anyone know how to trace anyone in Turkey?
