Received a bill for 2 months 3900TL live in a house 2 people. Went to the electricity provider in town t be told its correct without even looking at the bill or checking my meter. I was told i have to pay or i will be cut off. I had to pay 56TL to get my meter checked but after 1 hour discussion checking my bill and my latest meter reading they said pay. My previous bills were 600TL max so jumping to 1700TL for 1 month then 2200TL for the second month is not on especially when i was in Turkey for 5 of the days. Please check your bills as they haven't got a clue here. Do not rely on your reading.

I turned off the mains in the evening, looked at the few properties around me and all lights stayed on, i've got an electrician coming tomorrow to check the house over and to check if anyone is using my electric. Hope not that would be a shame.

Just disappointed at the way it was handled today and being sent upstairs and downstairs 5 times. No one wants to deal with problems all they seem to do well is take monies. Half way through they said we are on lunch you have to come back. It makes me laugh about all these protests. I don't understand all government offices close for lunch. Its just weird.

So sorry to hear this they just seem to send us from one person to the next all the time, my guess is not one of them has an answer. Hope you get it sorted as the amount seem ridiculous..

Are you on builders electric as when we rented our first place the electric was sky high, it was between the two properties as they had no planning to build the other place. We always paid our share but they even tried to tell us when we could not use the air cons bloody cheek..they just did not want us to use it ! some people

I know that the bills have just been increased by 40% but it sounds like your meter is not working properly or someone is stealing it.

Good luck with your electrician finding out for you

2 neighbours have meters adjacent to each other and the meter reader transposed the readings. The unlucky one had a bill for 3600tl and went to complain. They said there was nothing they could do and he must pay - but in time it would correct itself. He argued it was not fair because almost all had been charged at the highest band but effectively the credit would only be given at the lower bands, but they would not budge. He worked out what the extra units would have cost when spread over several months at his normal monthly consumption and reckoned that the mistake cost him over 800tl.

Sounds like these new digital meters are the problem.

Be interested in Ismets view.

We have a different but related problem.

A Digital meter was fitted 3 months ago-Kibtek can't give us a bill because the meter has yet to be registered.

Friends had the same problem and were charged interest on late payment even though they didn't receive a bill for 4 months.

Kibtek are a complete nightmare to deal with.

You just couldn't make it up!!

Octopus Aquapark have had a digital meter fitted and received bills for 3 months indicating no consumption - then a bill for 24000TL. Needless to say, it is being contested.
