Chocolate manufacturers are downsizing their products - yet the prices are remaining the same.

A new shorter version of the Cadbury Dairy Milk bar, which is missing two chunks, has just gone into shops - although the price has remained the same at £1.

At the same time, Toblerone has removed one triangle from its iconic products to ensure Poundland can continue to sell them for £1 a time.

Its the same with all foods, Smiths crisps used to be 250grams went to 200grams now 175grams same price, 1kilo Cadbury Dairy Milk bar now down to 750grams, baked beans 440grams now 400grams, all tin food dropped in content, used to get 1kg cheese now 750gram same price, you can see why the cost of living has sky-rocketed,

wanderer, this is an major important issue. SO important that it should be made 'sticky'.....but given the vast number of replies you'll get, I guess it will remain at the top anyway...

They have done it due to the sky-rocketing cost of cocoa, 150% in the past year or so.

With 1 person in 10 in the western world suffering from obesity maybe it is not such a bad thing to downsize the bars of chocolate.

Chris Msg 8 - yes 100% true but not if you are a chocoholic

Don't blame Cadbury blame Kraft who bought them (seemingly with some false pretences involved i.e. closing factories that they implied would stay open etc). If you look at some of the products mentioned you may find they are also owned by the same cheesy conglomerate.

Rob Msg 10 - Cadbury the chocolate manufacturer were mainly owned by the big investors such as insurance companies for many years a minority holding would have been family and Friends.

> Mr Cadbury met Miss Rowntree on a Double Decker.

> It was just After Eight. They got off at Quality Street .

> He asked her name. 'Polo, I'm the one with the hole' she said with a Wispa.

> 'I'm Marathon , the one with the nuts' he replied.

> He touched her Cream Eggs, which was a Kinder Surprise for her.

> Then he slipped his hand into her Snickers, which made her Ripple.

> He fondled her Jelly Babies and she rubbed his Tic Tacs.

> Soon they were Heart Throbs.

> It was a Fab moment as she screamed in Turkish Delight.

> But, 3 days later, his Sherbet Dip Dab started to itch.

> Turns out Miss Rowntree had been with Bertie Bassett and he had Allsorts!
