If you do, you see them and if you don't you say so hoping that it happens. That's not so bad.

What gets me are the relatives that never visit you in the year but the day before you fly, they will come to say goodbye and the day after you return , they will come back to Hosgelding and never see you again before the next flight.

Now that is strange.
