All eyes have turned to the Cyprus negotiations process now that the Geneva summit has been concluded.

The first meeting to be held between the two leaders on the Cyprus issue has been scheduled for next week, here’s more. President Derviş Eroğlu and the Leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration Dimitris Christofias are to hold their first meeting after the Geneva summit on Wednesday the 9th.

Eroğlu’s special representative Kudret Özersay and Christofias’ aide Yorgos Yakovu held a meeting in the UN-controlled buffer zone today in preparation of the leaders’ meeting.

Making a statement regarding today’s meeting to the BRT newsroom, Mr. Özersay said that during today’s meeting EU and Economic chapters were discussed.

He said that the Turkish side had made proposals before the Geneva summit, and today the Greek Cypriot side gave their response to these proposals.

‘We also exchanged views regarding EU and Economic chapters during today’s meeting’ he said.
