Some may not have seen this in the Daily Mail. And having worked with clients who suffer with this illness I found this very sad and also with her poor parents who are going through this, a very sad time for them and I do hope all gets sorted for them very soon. Very sad...

A family crying out for help? Yes no doubt. They were certainly struggling with everyday life.

There are always two sides to a story but if this report is to believed it is a massive over reaction to the problem.

As far as the family's problems - where were other family or community members. Did no one know what was happening? I've seen where people of this age do not readily know where or how to get help. It is usually someone else who knows them well that starts the ball rolling on their behalf with Social Services etc. and helping out with runs to the hospital or shopping or just going round for a chat.

Between the Police, family ( if any) and the community there is alot lacking.

Its my views that she would not see anyone, as it was stated, but she should have had a good CPN to have built some trust with and a slow exposure to her fears. exposure to people who had, had good hospital treatment and were healthy would have been a starting point. But my guess is they all ended up in a catch 22 situation within the Mental Heath Team. But social services and the CPN should have offered more support to the parents .Another failure in the care of in the community department.Shame on them ALL.
