| It's very high in nitrogen a natural fertiliser... forest fires are natures way of increasing nitrogen in the soil. If you put it on your plants don't smother the roots. Make sure it's mixed in. Putting it in the compost bin is a great way to utilise the ashes from your fire as it will make the compost light and crumbly. |

| I made the mistake of putting the ash tray outside without ensuring that it was covered until all the embers had cooled. It attracted a cat who attempted a "dump" and fled the scene like a red arsed baboon ! |
