I thought she was one brave lady, they must have been amateurs as they didn't stab her, they were more scared of her. She needs some reward as it was captured on cctv and world news.

I can only admire her for her bravery but I do wonder whether in hindsight she might look back and realise how lucky she was not to have been seriously injured, who knows what these thugs could have done to her. On saying that, thank goodness there are some people around who do not just sit on the sidelines!

Do you not think that it is worrying that someone would stand there recording it all rather than rushing to help?

Perhaps the camera person had to control their instincts to give immediate assistance realising that film was going to be invaluable in the ensuing investigation ? Certainly would be a dilemma for them.

deputydawg Any jeweler's I know in the Uk have their own CCTV cameras and my guess is that there were plenty of street cameras that caught the action. I think it is sad that some one can stand there and film it all going on when there are peoples lives at possible risk. Unfortunately a sad indictment of British/English society today.

AJ do you apply that same criteria to news reporters aropund the world filming scenes of violence. You appear to be a typical Brit basher.

Quarmby I find your comparison with what happened in a street in Northampton with world wide violence a bit bizarre. News reporters around the world that report about conflicts put themselves at risk and they know they cannot change anything but they can only make the rest of the world aware of what is going on. The person involved in recording the footage in Northampton did it only (as far as I am aware) to sell it on to the first newspaper that wanted to buy it. To me that is sad.

Leave Deputydawg alone, how dare you question his motives, this man has served for a lifetime in the British Army and his reputation alone refutes slurs from you, you know who you are! Disgusting!

I meant leave AlsancakJack - my mistake but the rest of what I said I stand by! Some people get their rocks off by slurring and trying to sully people's motives, this forum is not for that purpose. Get yourself out into the sunshine and get a life.

Calm down dear, this is a forum where one is entitled to give one's opinions. No one is slurring anyone's reputation. Whatever one has done in life is totally irrelevant to this thread. It would be very sad if we all have to reveal what we did in life to get respect.

AJ apparently it was filmed by a freelance photographer so I suppose he could get renumeration for his footage. Are not other photograpers/camera people doing their jobs, not also being paid for doing their job?

AlsancakJack. At the time I made the post I was not aware of the identity of the camera person. Am I not allowed to believe that until confirmed it could have been for example somebody wheelchair bound or a young child who any right minded person would not wish to take such risk ?
