How many cartons of cigarettes allowed into UK ?

Wish to purchase a supply for friends in the UK but heard the limit is 1 carton (20 packs) Is this true??

1 carton equals 10 packs, and that is the limit from outside the EEC.

Flying from Ercan that is correct. If you fly from Larnaca the "limit" is 3200 cigarettes.

You are only allowed to carry 2 packs (40 cigarettes) over the border into the South though!

When I went home last year they just shook their heads at me, as do most on here I had 600, they said I had just come from Turkey and could not have that amount. I informed them I had just come from Cyprus and they were all for me ! They let me go Smoking less at home half came back with me..

well as stated south side you can take 3200, its still much cheaper than uk. However I did not know the allowence fro north side. If its only 1 cartoon why do they sell you more when they know the rules x

Re message 12, Don't even think about cramming them into your suitcase, they're x-rayed on entry to the UK, got caught out ourselves many years back coming back from Portugal. Our suitcase was the last onto the carousel and we were stopped by customs who questioned us about the amount we had!
