Hi Everyone

I am due to have an engagement party for about 80 people next month. Looking for an intimate Turkish restaurant with possible live music. Ideally somewhere we could have for the evening. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Efes bar on Great Portland street. I have never been there but have walked past it several times and have been curious. They regularly have live acts by Turkish performers

I love Grand Bazaar in St James Street which is a couple of streets before Selfridges in Oxford Street. Nearest tube station would be Bond Street. It is cosy and intimate with beautiful coloured glass lanterns hanging from the ceiling. No idea if you could book it for a private function, it's in a very busy area full of restaurants and bars.

Hi Musin

I just tried to look at that website and I was asked for a username and password. Is this normal?

Cheers.

"Hi Everyone,

I'm a Brit living in North Cyprus and I'm looking for a really good British restaurant to have an engagement party for about 80 people, serving John Smiths, fish and chips or all day breakfasts maybe. Any suggestions?"

If I had posted the above as a genuine request I would have been booed and hissed as a culturless beer swilling Brit who has no intention of fitting in. It's interesting to see that Noble has not been criticised once, yet.

I am not criticising Nobel by any means. I do, however, wish us Brits would allow ourselves the leeway that we allow others.

I hope Nobel and his party have a great time, where-ever they go and whatever they eat.

Sarastro is great fun but unfortunately 'King Richard' died a few years ago. He always had his Rolls Royce parked outside on 'double yellow lines' but never got a parking ticket!

Msg 18

Your link indicates a pharmaceutical company. Well, I know how to get smashed at an engagement party but one held in a chemical research laboratory is a new one on me, I'd leave high as a kite!

Can recommend Efes in Gt Portland Street but if Kasim cannot not do it the original Efes in Gt Titchfield Street is also very good. We have had many a good meal at both. Enjoy.
