After 2 years I was finally persuaded to return to the above having had 2 bad meals there! 4 of us arrived just after 6 30, no-one else there. The waiter arrived with the menus, did not ask us what drinks we would like. Eventually, he came over to take our orders and we told him we would like a drink, he took the drinks orders and asked for our orders. We told him we wanted a drink first. One of the drinks was missing the lime juice requested. When starters came the person requested the lime which meant his starters was late. We had ordered 3 portions of chips as extras but we were told that they came with the meals. By now a cypriot family had arrived and the owner was firmly attached to the table as he was all night, totally oblivious to what was going on. The 3 others finished their starters before me, their finished dishes still on the table - whilst I was still eating mine - all 4 main meals arrived with the owner carrying one of them.

cont... To cut a very long disaster short, our meal was taken away and kept warm, the waiter was blamed for everything, when the warmed meals were returned there were no chips and had to wait for them to be cooked. I took several attempts for me to attract the owners attention despite this wonderful system on the table of a flag where you raise it for attention!!! We decided not to bother with sweets, coffee etc - but hey whwen we asked for bill in disgust - owner was missing - no charge for chips - no apology, we had looked forward to relaxing evening, social time, chatting etc - we were home by 8PM!!!!

I'm very surprised by this statement. We've been there 3-4 times and have always had excellent service with the food cooked to perfection.

the waiter before was Farique not sure about spelling but he has been in Pakistan for many months, new waiter is not attentive. It is also not nice to be served main course whilst starters are still being consumed and others at the table have to lift up their finished starter plates to allow their main courses to be delivered only to be taken back to the kitchen and kept warm for half an hour but hey whatever you are used to. I will say, I have never ever put a negative comment on Cyprus Forum about restaurants only good ones so this has taken some doing from me

If you ordered pasta, I would like to see what it looked like after being kept warm for 30 minutes or whatever you ordered didn't it dry up?

been a few times now at first the waiters were very good but the last time we were there the service was poor considering we were the only people in an it was very expensive

Been loads of times and always had good food and service. I did notice on my last visit however, that the new waiter was not up to Rafique's standard. Hopefully he will come back soon.

Had no problem getting our pizza's 20 minutes pick up & yummy. Have a word with the owner they need to know about complaints then they can improve the service. It is a shame when you get bad service it ruins the evening & you end up not going back.

Only been once and won't rush back. Had the worst lasagne I have ever had in my life! Cooked pasta sheets - sort of - with some bolognese sauce plonked on the top........

try eating it after it has been kept warmed for 30 minutes, luke warm and stodgy and yes we did let the owner know, but after blaming the waiter, he went back to spending the rest of the evening talking to the other table! There are far too many restaurants on this island to try for owners to be complacent. Our favourite is Effendi's. We love the great food, excellent service and love their Jazz nights and jamming sessions,we are regulars there. Thoroughly recommend it

We ordered two T bone steaks last week which were cooked to perfection but alas served on very cold plates so the veg was actually almost frozen an unedible, We did get two free coffees in consulation but even so it spoilt the meal for me. Loved the log fire crackling away on the wall hung computer though. Anyone know where i can get the DVD ?

We went the other night and it was really lovely, served in good time when we put the little flag up, but not pushed and the meal was hot and scrummy.... we even got given a coffee on the house!
