You need to watch out for cats that are white or white eared as in the sun they are prone to get cancer around the ears because of the lack of pigment. They need to be kept out of the sun espeically strong sun as in N Cyprus.

There was a chap in Lapta called Harvey Harrison that actually bred these cats. The ones he breeds are turkish cats but they do cost rather a lot of money as he was breeding them in Costa Rica for rich clients.

He was living on the road to the english cemetery. If you pass Flippers hotel and take the next left turn to Lapta then the next right and carry on up the hill and take the next right and the 1st drive on you left will take you to his large villa. The cats have their own rooms and aircon believe it or not. Maybe worth a try if he is still dealing in them.

Thanks for all the replies, StGeorge, i'm not being fussy, we already have 14 other cats of all shapes , sizes and colours, we have taken in all waifs and strays, had them all neutered and MOT'd regardless, we have cat that is blind, one with only one eye, one with bad cataracts and another with a vary bad deformed sinus that requires constant medical care, we spend over 1000TL a month on cat food, my wife is a classical pianist who in March is giving a piano recital at Bellapaise Abbey in aid of KAR. I think we have the right to be "fussy" about this one dont you?

The Turkish white cats are called Angoras and are usually fairly expensive . White "moggies" are often genetically pre disposed to have hearing and/ or sight problems.

Lots of lovely cats at the Rescue Centre !!

I have a post on about some kittens I need to home would you like one of those, they have been speyed/nuetered and are really loving little animals - not white though one of them is a really light sand with a big white bib (little female). They are all really gentle and loving as well. I can email picture if you like and/or if you know anyone at all interested in a kitten (about 6/7 months old) please pass the information on to them I would be very grateful for your help.

At present they are in the garden of an Italian couple and they feed them and look after them but they will leave soon and can't take them with them, I have lots of older cats visit me for food and I know I won't be able to home any of those.
