I would like to make public my absolute thanks and appreciation for the ambulance service of TRNC. Whilst on our recent holiday my partner had an allergic reaction and was in a bad way. I phoned the ambulance service who spoke great English and sent an ambulance straight away. He was in Girne Hospital receiving treatment in no time and at no cost to us either!

I will be writing to the hospital and the Tourism Minister to express our thanks but I just wanted to say a huge public thanks as well!

Excellent post. I'm glad your partner was well cared for and recovered quickly. Perhaps you could email your letter to Cyprus Today as well.

When I was in Girne a month a go my niece was not feeling well.

I took her into Girne A&E, she was looked at within 10 minutes and allocated a bed within 15 minutes for her treatment.

Two months ago I took my wife to A&E in Chase farm, London hospital waiting time was about 3 hours and it was 6 hours before we could come back home and the tratment given to her consisted of some high dosage pain killers.

My last experience with another London hospital A&E was as below.

We waited 4 hours in the waiting room, by which time the patient was actually feeling better and wanted to return home without actually being seen by any doctor.

Could you let me know the emergency number for an ambulance and the hospital in Girne. I think it is advisable to have this information just in case it is needed.

Thanks

It is listed in Cyprus Today. Whole page of important, useful numbers.

Sorry, don't have it with me here.

I have spoken to a reporter from Cyprus today and they are going to print this as an article and not just a letter! He was saying the same as you d'sgranny that a lot of money is raised to support the ambulance service and that a good news story would be welcomed.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Cyprus Today in the UK? My other half now thinks he is semi-famous, all for eating a walnut!

d’sgranny, do you know of any way I can support this excellent charity from the UK?
