Susan - NC isn't England and you'll not get anything for the money your talking about I'm afraid - not even an old banger.

If lucky, may get a very old push bike at that price. look at having to spend £4000 plus for agood reasonable car. Unless you are lucky

lilaclady....secondhand car prices are totally disproprtionate in the TRNC....they are at least 3 times more expensive than in the UK ! As daft as it sounds, if you are only staying a year and not doing much mileage it may be cheaper to use public transport or taxis. People want £5K for cars which are frankly a joke .

Toys R Us!!! Seriously I must agree with the previous posts but you may find a half decent Renault 9 for £1500 if you look around. Good luck!

Fosterscan.....I never said you could get a car in the TRNC for £600.....lilaclady naively mentioned bangers available in the UK for £200 ! My point was that a car costing say £6000 in TRNC would probably be available for about £2K in the UK. Hope this is clear now.

Fosterscan....From what I've read and seen for sale I don't think you'd get anything that the UK would class as roadworthy for less than £1500 !
