Looking for a flight ONLY to TRNC from England in March. Have looked on line with the airlines that cover TRNC but am being told, they 'with agreement' can only supply flights with hotel accomadation to TRNC. Surely this can not be good for TRNC as it will only drive the likes of myself away from flying into the north, and look at other routes to Cyprus, then drive north.

Still looking for flights to TRNC, Please help.

Nothing wrong with Pegasus in my experience. Been using them 3 or 4 times a year for the past few years and no problems whatsoever.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Pegasus, in my opinion. Have used them regularly over the last few years with no complaints at all.

When you say "SCARY" reading, what do you mean, exactly?

You might be be right in what you say about Pegasus in your opinion, but I am only going by what I have just read in the North Cyprus Forum Board dated 06/02/2011 @Complaints'

So...you get on a plane you sit there for a few hours and then you get off the other end.

Other than the boredom whats there to think about other than the price !!

Turtle "whats there to think about" leg room & food both of which you can pay extra for on pegasus excellent service though I flew on their inaugural STN ERC flight just a pain to get to Stanstead from North of Birmingham hence I tend to use Turkish Airlines I am trying monarch bhx to Larnaca and coming back with pegasus to stanstead this time for achange and saves money early season .Then Eurocar 350 one way for a hire car

Wanderer,

Yes I agree if you want food on board and extra leg room then you need to think a bit more.

But for me I grab a meal at the airport a bottle of water and a book and thats it for me.

If you were flying on a 9/10hr flight yes but to Cyprus ?

Turtle

going Monarch 9:20 BHX pack of sandwiches and a nice steak in Ozankoy on the evening

Returning Pegasus 8:10 extra legroom seats reserved and I may eat the meal on the plane their fillet steak is nice

Its still nearly 18:00 when I get back it always takes 12 hours door to door minimum

I'm on the staffs border near you If we had stanstead on the doorstep with upto twice daily flights and no airport parking that's a dream I bet the prices will be stupid in august 2012 with the Olympics

wanderer,

I'm like you and use Pegasus and Monarch BHX ,...Stansted is a pain to get to so the extra hour in a taxi from Larnaca is just as quick.

The problem with Monarch is nobody wants to pay for luggage so everybody seems to have massive hand luggage......Can't beat the price though

Found this on Skyscanner Flight Search: In March... Out of BHX - Barcelona (£8 + £15 bag charge) a bit of a stop over, time for a nice meal. Barcelona - Larnaca £33 + bag & tax.

Return Monarch into BHX £72 + bag & tax.

Turtle. When you say nobody wants to pay for luggage we had a nightmare of a journey back to Manchester with Monarch on 12th January, we arrived at the gate and there were only about 50 people there, we boarded at 25 past 4 although the flight was 5.30pm then we found out why, about 5pm about 250 greek cypriot students started to board, most of them had a large bag, backpack, laptop and duty free bags well you can image what it was like them all trying to get all the bags in overhead lockers, it was bedlam, the Captain apologised saying it wasn't their fault it was check in who allowed them on, we had all our luggage weighed allowed 10kg each and I had to carry my laptop in my hand luggage. The noise level was terrible, they were shouting to each other from one end of the plane to the other, never again.

Woodspeckie, My parents had the same problem last year when the students were all on thier way back to the UK after the Xmas break but I have never had that problem as we tend to choose our times when kids and students are at school.

Not good though but this bag problem will get worse as airlines sting you for baggage charges.

Turtle. Yes we will time it better this year, we go Christmas/New Year so will have to go one week earlier or return 1 week later, never had a problem with flight from Ercan although we had students on there.

The cabin luggage was supposed to be restricted to 10kg it was for us so it should be for the students.
