I remember buying the 'velveteen' box with the sample new coins in.



My first purchase on 15 Feb 1971 was a stapler cost 50p sure it was less than 10 bob the day before

We were all ripped off within 2 years or so weren't we. As to cost of pint I was well protected being a student at the time ....Guinness was really expensive at 18p pint i Student Union Bars (Manchester)!

15 Feb 71 I was made redundant, 6 months later joined RAF served 23 years.
