we call it part time job beacuse it is jus for 5 days. All companies make people worked that price. if you do not like the price and working hours you do not have to work. i do not undrstand your problem with it.

I expect with wages at 175TL for a 40 hour week (4.37TL per hour) you will have people ringing you non-stop!!!! Not !!!!

Surely this is below the TRNC minimum wage ??

Apparently minimum wage here approx 1250 TL......epack you're expecting someone to work full time for almost half that.

Good luck with your search

Interesting. It is difficult to argue for it being part-time when most people consider working 9-5pm from Monday to Friday as full-time employment.

Fairly certain 35 tl per day is illegal, as you would have to pay minimum wage on anyone working 40 hours a week.

more than 16-20 hours is not part time but are you paying for a work permit and are you going to pay social sigorta? i think not therefore you will be employing someone illegally and you and your worker can get into serious trouble. it just isn't worth the risk let alone the money you are paying. the fact that you say the job is easy also doesn't matter it will still be an 8 hour day plus travelling to and from start point, you will be just exploiting someone who is very desperate for money.

Isn't language a problem on this board sometimes. I think what the man meant was 'short term'. As to the legalities, he might get a student wanting to do it, or a Turkish Cypriot younster who needs work. I know someone who would jump at it, just to have something to do.

Soime students work in shops and cafes for about £1 an hour! And I am sure there are plenty of them who would love to earn a few lira, but I doubt they read this board.

By the way, I couldn't understand what the heck the job is. Is it one of those handing out leaflets at the traffic lights, but what do you mean 'answering questions'. You see - I said it was a language problem.

Sadly lots of folk work long hours and hard work for little money (and that is legal!). So really with the offer that is being made here, one can take it or leave it. It is, after all, just an offer! Even though the terminology has confused some folk.

I wonder if they will get any takers? I would love to know.

Ok this is really none of my business; however shouldn’t this thread be shut now as it is illegally allowing someone to advertise an illegal job? Even if it is temporary this should be re-opened and explained in a little more detail, i.e. Exact description, work permit applications, preferably a not naming a sex as in women can only apply (very sexual way of advertising).

Yes I understand people should work harder and take homeless if required….

I also find it amazing that someone with 2 university degrees and who bilingual is only on 1100 TL per month, unless you yourself is not an outgoing person, and has little or maybe even no self confidence.

Remember the degrees behind you are irrelevant, there could be 3 or 4 for all I know you could have cheated to attain them. It’s the university of life in which is makes you successful.

Finally stop being rude to all other members on this bord I have been in Cyprus since 1990 and if you seem to describe this island as a sister fro

Burasa Kibris, sadly many less fortunate people are forced by need to work for low wages. Be it illegally or the minimum (low ). There are actually students at TRNC universities who actually hace to survive on 20TL a week. How they manage, escsapes me. One student was actually clothed by donations from his fellow students.

I hope you are not refering to the students I've met in TRNC from Turkey who cannot pay their rent but somehow manage to buy 2 bottles of raki every night and smoke 2 packets of marlboros every day.

Even I can't afford that, somehow 'they' do.Not to mention illegal prostutition!or the ones going to so called university but insisting on living in Kyrenia..............for some strange reason..........and then having the cheek to say that 'we' don't want them here.

I wander why?

No idea which ones you've met! The one I refered to first lives in the Guzelyurt area, its west of Kyrenia. Would be a little difficult to travel in every day to Uni in Lefkosa or Kyremia but anything is possible. Problem with Raki and fags is, it is like it is part of the culture here for both the local or the mainland Turk. As for not wanting them here, do you? As for your reference to illegal prostitution, shouldn't it be illegal rather than living off immoral earning. Having said that, that too seems to be part of the culture here. For that reason we alliens (that includes the Brits, Germans, infact everyone no Turkish have to go get a blood test before they are given / sold a visa. But we love it here really! Oh how many cigarettes / bottles of aslan sut do you get through a day.Gives me an idea if you are on the minimum wage. Hopefully NOT.

Let me know how you get on with the job.

Beleive you me,I've alot more of them then you.Had some of them as my tenants too,and seen what sort of conditions they live also,to the point I kicked them out my house.

I spent half my life in uk,like people in uk.WORKED.If by any chance I was in a situation of having to live in the conditions that 'you' mention,I'd have been on the first plane back.I also have some very good mainland turks as my friends, but for some strange reason they too don;t want those mentined sort here as well as ME.As for having to have blood test, before you are SOLD a visa, did you not know before commiting to live here?If not, there is only one person to blame for that, and thats not me.

By the way,I smoke, roll my own.I drink occasionaly,to the point off licenses would go bust if all drinkers were like me.

Any other info you need about me,fire away.Have nothing to hide from no one.Link below would tell you all about me.

Why all the fuss ?? This is not the UK !!

Can someone explain what is actually illegal about this post ?? The minimum wage is not relevant.. If someone is prepared to work for 35tl a day then whats the problem??

The young lady has posted a job opportunity, take it or leave it...

It's fine for you all to demand special offers, cheap beer. cheap gardeners and villas painted for silly money !!

Message 40 - a very good point and well made.

Before anyone asks - no, I wouldn't work for that hourly rate but then, I don't live in NC and I am not desperate for money. HOWEVER, the way things are going in the UK, it might not be long! I know someone who works in the restaurant trade and who recently worked a 67 hour week for an hourly rate of about £3.63. When he queried this, he was told "you don't like it - leave". Now, this is obviously illegal in the UK. but.................. In the UK, we have 1 in 5 18-24 year olds out of work as at today's figures.

Things are getting dire in the UK with regards employment and so far, it's definitely the thin edge of the wedge. It will get a lot worse before it gets any better.

Well said r40 and 41. More or less what I said earlier. This is a job offer - take it or leave it, and I would hav e thought there were a lot of students (at the least) would who lov e to earn a couple of lira.

Come on - have there been any takers?

I'm not the one offering the job! Don;t you mean ';they are paying!' Buyt the whole point is that non one is being forced to take up this offer. It is there if someone wants it. I don't want it either, but I would like to know if someone does do it. And if nothing else, it shows how desperate a lot of people are here for money.

Anbd come to thin k of it the rate offered is no worse than leaflet delivering in the U.K a couple of decades back. All the good you got out of it was exercise, cos the cost of repairing one's shoes after walking all that distance was just about covered by the wages.

Was at the passport office today and met a girl graduated from the best uni in Turkey. Working at a uni prep school for slightly over the minimum wages.

The social insurance office is unable to pay pensions, Turkey is cutting the money, Its not easy to earn.

Im not surprised that someone with epaks qualifications is earning 1100tl per month.

My husband and I also took extremely large paycuts when we moved here.

My diploma is not bought, and neither is his.
