Nilesat/Hotbird Problems

Got a 1.8 mtr motorised dish. Used to have both Nilesat and Hotbird programmes without a problem, can still go to the sat's but now no signal! Go to Eutelsat and get "Most" of Digiturk (subscription paid) channels that I used to get but now some missing as well.



Any clues from sat wizards out there????



Happened all of a sudden two days ago by the way.

jock1, did you try re-scanning the birds or just called the man? I have a funny feeling that the LNB may have gone but then I would not expect to get anything at all - strange. Let me know what happens to yours please it may help before I end up calling out the sat man. Thanks.

Hi Guys.. if Nilesat or Hotbird had gone down, you can be SURE that loads of folk would have been on here asking 'what's up' ... We can get Hotbird stuff in the UK and all is OK..



That's suggests a problems specific to you :(

Strange fault, two days (or it may be three, I am getting old) Fox Movies started to break up, then MBC started to go as well but all other channels were ok. Digiturk did something like they always do and we all had to re scan for the channels - I had lost some of the digiturk channels when I re-scanned. Went back onto Nilesat and nothing, zilch, nada, no signal at all - same with hotbird so gave up and watched a DVD instead.



Had another look tonight and its still the same so suspected it was my kit but with jock1 having the same fault it sounds odd???

Just checked again - only bits of Digiturk must be the kit, this should be fun. I am running a Next YE-2000 DPCIS Super plus that is only 3 months old. Now suspect an LNB failure but can not see how?

jock, all problems now solved and have masses more channels than I ever did before. Satman called and fixed the whole thing for me - looks like the receiver lost all its settings (including the Digiturk box as well) and needed to be retuned. Beyond me to do this even through I had a stab at it last night and managed to lose Nilesat completely off the menu - DOH!



Down to power cuts in the area we think so will now fit a spare UPS to the NEXT box and see if that will help. Hope yours is up and running as well by now.
