If yours is usualy linked to a Government pension for then yes, the rise will be 3.2% and there is also a generous rise in the personal tax allowance to £7475.

it's based on 2010 September inflation rate, that's why the government are trying to get the rate down by Sept 2011

R.C.T.Man, I've a feeling that your pension is calculated in the same way that teacher's pensions are calculated, e.g. did you have a pay freeze in April 2010?

RCTMan - Re Message 9

Armed Forces pensions will increase by 3.1% on 11 April 2011 in common with other public sector pensions.

The following is an extract from page 7 of parliamentry briefing paper:

http://www.parliament.uk/briefingpapers/commons/lib/research/briefings/snbt-05434.pdf

"The Chief Secretary to the Treasury (Danny Alexander):

Legislation governing public service pensions requires them to be increased annually by the same percentage as additional pensions (state earnings-related pension and state second pension). Public service pensions will therefore be increased from 11 April 2011 by 3.1% in line with the annual increase in the consumer prices index up to September 2010, except for those public service pensions which have been in payment for less than a year, which will receive a pro rata increase."

Can't moan about 3.1% can we

Paul
