I was driving my friend home down a quiet but long and straight road yesterday lunchtime discussing the morning events, when suddenly a police car overtook us with its lights flashing....he pulled over in front of us, got out and walked over to the window. He said he had been following us for two miles, and hadnt I spotted him? Worried I was speeding, (I wasnt) or had some problem with the car unbeknown to me ( I didnt) I asked what the problem was. Apparantly he had seen my coat caught in the car door and wanted to tell me but said that as I hadnt seen him behind us with his lights flashing he could do me for undue care and attention!! He let me off with a warning.........knuckles well and truly wrapped.......

".......undue care and attention......"

Don't you mean:

"Driving without due care and attention"?

How are you supposed to see the policeman if he's behind you?

It's not like you've got eyes in the back of your head.

And you don't need to anyway, because you are going forwards.

Stupid policeman. I wouldn't worry about it. He probaly fancied you.

Hi Scoty,

Thanks for your support, but I don't think so. Her reflection wouldn't have been big enough to see if he fancied her in the mirror. As John says, mirrors are for lippy.

Babs.

Rear view mirrors are superfluous if you could not care less or cannot remember what you have passed.

Shrimp. The only way I have of deciding what type of person you are is by what/how you write. That may not be fair, but it is a fact. If you write like an uneducated idiot, do not be surprised if I/everyone, think/s you are an...........

I actually think that manners are far better than spelling capabilities, I may not be the brightest speller in the world but did manage to gain seven o'levels, and an A level at my privately educated convent school......please do not judge me on how I spell........you do not know me..

I can only call what I see. And what I see is not that impressive. Use a spell check, there is no excuse for looking thick.

I will stick with my version Martin. "I can only speak as I find" has totally different connotations. Or hadn't you realised?

Nice try though!

Msg 16

It's not nice of you to pick on shrimp.

It was the policeman picking on her, not the other way around.

And none of this would have happened anyway, if her man had done his job to begin with - i.e. drive.

Shame on you!

Msg 22 - doubt it!

Thread addressed, topic addressed, etc.??

BTW - if the person stays in Devon???

Maybe their police system is different - no mention originally this happened in Cyprus
