What a fantasic day it was. I have never been involved with it before much to my shame. But we were invited to dance during the walkers coming back in. I must admit i was a little late, but they did start walking early. We danced 7 dances. And felt very humble and privileged to be asked to do so as well. The rain held off, the sun was out. What a lot of work goes into organising this event. The one dance however we really did want to get right. it was so appropriate for the event. We had only practiced it two weeks and yes we went wrong. But hey we are not perfect. A tear came when the minutes silence was over and i looked up to see the balloons being sent on their way, very emotional. Thank you team for being as usual a brilliant team event. Hope we can do it again next year. KLDS

Thank you, Kibris Liners, for adding sparkle, enthusiasm and energy to a great finish for all us walkers. Thank you also to all those who took part, helped and gave so generously. More than 600 people walked, including around 120 ex pats, it was very special to be involved in this annual, Cypriot event. The ex pats contributed 4,160TL (£1664) with ticket sales and sponsorship, local Turkish Cypriots raised around 13,800TL in ticket sales. With the amount added by the Turkish Cypriot group from London it is expected that a total of about £40,000 will be given to cancer research at Imperial College and to sponsor an oncology student from N.Cyprus. See you all next year!

Maureen Well done to you and your husband for your contribution to this event. Second time my hubby and I have attended the walk and have to say what a thoroughly enjoyable day it was. Always make new friends along the way and the views are stunning along the route. Never fails to make me cry when the balloons are released and "You'll never walk alone" is sang. What an amazing amount of money raised for such a worth while cause. Well done to everyone who walked and also those who worked behind the scenes. Looking forward to next year.

Yes what a wonderful friendly atmosphere. Many bad things going on in todays world, people against people, it was so very nice to see and experience such courtesy between nationalities and age groups. Do hope we are invited again next year. KLDS.
