Tax Office at Metahan, opening times please

I have to go over the border today at about 4.30 . Can anyone tell me if the tax office at Metahan will still be open.



I would hate to get there and find it closed. A friend tells me that her husband went one afternoon and could not get his car taxed !!!!

And when you do go, make sure you have your log book and licence with you... It's an MOT cert you get not a road tax cert.

For anyone else interested the MOT office is only open Monday to Friday.

i assume that they will check the car details against the passport of the driver ! but i dont know am sure someone else may have tried it

Anyone can get MOT and Insurance with the correct documentation.



Once the insurance lady at Metahan accepted the number of my driving licence as I couldn't find it.

Hi ,we went over yesterday and the lady told us that they open late on a wednesday ,till about 5 . the rest of the week it closes early 2 -2.30.

I was not asked if the car was mine either at the Turkish or Greek sides. The Turks asked who was driving and I said me, no documents asked for. The Greek lady asked only for the log book and my driving licence. I was not at anytime asked if the car was mine !!

What a shocker!



I was once told I couldn't drive my own car by the GC Police at the border because the MOT office had only put my wife on the MOT cert. The office was closed so I couldn't rectify the problem.
