An increase is widely forecast for UK interest rates and the tl rate, if it goes anywhere, will go down again. So if I was a betting man, I would expect higher than 2.60 before a month is out.

Problems in the Middle East, a policy in Turkey of an unstable TL to deter "Hot Money" and as previously mentioned rising interest rates in the UK make for more positive movement against the TL.

I'm hoping for at least a 2.70 exchange rate by the end of March (if UK interest rates go up, which i'm sure they will)... it's almost like the good old days!

due to revised gdp coming in at -0.5 instead of +0.6 king will not wish to raise rates this time. expect october to be time for a rate rise and then only 0.25%. Personal opinion and not being an expert I think the pound will drift slowly lower as the libyan debacle comes to an end , back to about 2.30.
