| Good News - You can tax your car for 6 months at a time! Bad News - If you leave a gap between periods of tax you have to pay for the "Gap" period the next time you tax it and you have to pay a penalty (its TRNC after all) for not paying your tax on time. Like your idea but there is no type of SORN here so you have to pay road tax for all the time the car is "in use" right up to the time it is scrapped or you sell it on. Sorry. |

| Hi John, yes you can buy 6 monthly Road Tax but it costs about 30-40% more than 12 Months. Message 3; You can sorn your car but only 12 Months at a time. if you want to tax it before 12 Months ends they back date it last 6 months and a fine you have to pay with it. I SORN'ed my car for 12 Months and I wanted to tax it on 10th month and I had to pay last 4 months tax and a fine for breaking the contract(they call the SORN a contract). I hope it helps. Regards Ant. |
