I can supply you with good quality inverter driven aircon. Wall mounted units start quite small at 9000Btu and range up to 36000Btu. They occupy no floor space. Floor standing units tend not to start until about 24000Btu and go upwards from there. They do occupy floor space. Floor standing units contain powerful fans which throw the air much further, which is good in a large room. I have a floor standing unit in my lounge which is open-plan with the dining area and kitchen.

Can anyone provide info whether they feel (and Why) wall mounted air cons are better than free standing ones (or not).

E-mail received and replied to. As explained above, the main difference is size - you may only need a 9000Btu unit in a small bedroom and floor standing units aren't made that small.
