Hello ,can anyone please advise me of the recommended way to tackle water storage. For various reasons we have been unable to visit our appartment for over a year,on arrival should we leave all the taps on and completely drain the water held in the roof tank.so filling it up with fresh water,I would have thought that water left unused and unrefreshed for any length of time would not be hygenic. the roof tank is of the plastic variety. Any advice much appreciated.

I personally wouldn't worry about it by the time you have flushed the toilets and washed the floors it will be diluted with fresher water just don't drink or wash your teeth in it .

If the [white?] water tank has had its lid well closed the contents should be OK - for goodness sake buy bottled water for human consumption - no TRNC water is potable, unless from a mountain source, and still I'd boil that before drinking.
